|Creator:||Newman, I. DeQuincey (Isaiah DeQuincey), 1911-1985|
|Title:||Speech, On the goals and tactics of the civil rights movement|
Six pages of a handwritten speech that declares that African American political interests in South Carolina are aligned with African American national interests to secure political equality, and notes political strategies that civil rights organizations have adopted, such as marches, selective buying campaigns, sit-ins, and pickets. The speech comments that African Americans have not fulfilled their vision, but that they have made a start, and establishes the importance of successful African Americans becoming land and home owners.
The Civil Rights Digital Library received support from a National Leadership Grant for Libraries awarded to the University of Georgia by the Institute of Museum and Library Services for the aggregation and enhancement of partner metadata.
