The encyclopedia features an article about the history of African Americans in relation to the Comstock Load in the Virginia City area. It also includes photographs of a demonstration at the capitol building in Carson City and influential African American and white civil rights workers in Nevada.
The Civil Rights Digital Library received support from a National Leadership Grant for Libraries awarded to the University of Georgia by the Institute of Museum and Library Services for the aggregation and enhancement of partner metadata.
