Oral history in which Frank Odell Sherrill primarily recalls the demonstrations and pickets that took place outside of the S&W Cafeteria and the effects it had on the business. He explains the company's policy for not serving blacks, some specific incidents that took place, the efforts of Armistead Sapp to keep the cafeteria segregated, and the efforts of the Kennedys to accomplish desegregation. The Civil Rights Digital Library received support from a National Leadership Grant for Libraries awarded to the University of Georgia by the Institute of Museum and Library Services for the aggregation and enhancement of partner metadata. |
