Luranie Heidelberg, Vernon Dahmer's aunt, looks at the smoking ruins of the store in the Kelly Settlement (Hattiesburg, Miss.), where she worked and resided the morning it was firebombed on January 10, 1966. Heidelberg, 84, escaped from the back of the burning structure.
The Civil Rights Digital Library received support from a National Leadership Grant for Libraries awarded to the University of Georgia by the Institute of Museum and Library Services for the aggregation and enhancement of partner metadata.
