Web site exhibiting forty-eight black-and-white photographs taken by photojournalist Spider Martin covering the Selma-to-Montgomery march in Alabama in 1965. Photographs cover the march from the failed first attempt at Edmund Pettus Bridge to the final celebrations in Montgomery. African Americans and white citizens, supporters, protesters, and military personnel are all represented.
The Civil Rights Digital Library received support from a National Leadership Grant for Libraries awarded to the University of Georgia by the Institute of Museum and Library Services for the aggregation and enhancement of partner metadata.
