- D.W. Beard was interviewed on November 29, 1979 about the Red Cross Hospital. He was a member of the board of the Red Cross Hospital, which was known previously as Community Hospital. He discusses public perception of the hospital and the reasons for its demise. He discusses the challenges of integration. He describes the role of Waverley Johnson and the issues within the board, as well.
