- Description:
- Text on reverse: "These are not homeward-bound slave laborers in Europe, but home-seeking sharecroppers in the South. Ruthlessly tractored off the land by big business farming, they are doomed to roam the land harvesting the "Grapes of Wrath," unless they are rescued by the Government and established on small farms of their own." Stetson Kennedy (1916-2011), writer and civil rights activist, collected these photographs during the course of his career fighting for equality throughout the Southern United States.
