Text on reverse: "Supplementary environmental study- Icebox in an Ybor City backyard." Ybor City was populated by immigrants and was multi-ethnic and multi-racial before it was abandoned during a period after the Great Depression and WWII. Stetson Kennedy (1916-2011), writer and civil rights activist, collected these photographs during the course of his career fighting for equality throughout the Southern United States.
