- Fla. WPA; 8/12/36, Key West, Fla.; Text on reverse: "This palm-shaded street passes through one of the nicest residential sections in Key West, but has long needed improvement. WPA workers are doing the job now, and when completed, another section of Key West will have been enhanced in value. This is one of the favorite streets of Winter residents in Key West, and msot of the houses on it are occupied by them." Stetson Kennedy (1916-2011), writer and civil rights activist, collected these photographs during the course of his career fighting for equality throughout the Southern United States.
