Text on sign: "This Part of Bus For White People." Text on reverse: "While traveling by bus or trolley in the segregated territory, you are required by law to sit in front if you are white." Stetson Kennedy (1916-2011), writer and civil rights activist, collected these photographs during the course of his career fighting for equality throughout the Southern United States.
