View of police officers and reporters during a riot on Boulevard in the Old Fourth Ward neighborhood in Atlanta, Georgia.
The Boulevard Riots took place on the 9th and 11th of September 1966 following the Summerhill Race Riots of the 6th. The Boulevard Riots started over the shooting of a young African American man, and the following Monday over the arrest of SNCC leader Stokley Carmichael, who had instigated the Summerhill Race Riot.
