|Title:||Alberta Jordan Reaves protesting in front of Isaly's carrying sign reading: "Isaly's Discriminate Against Negroes By Refusing To Hire Them As Counter Clerks"|
The protest was sponsored by the Greater Pittsburgh Improvement League, and it took place possibly in East Liberty. A woman in a polka dot dress is carrying a sign reading "Isaly's Dairy Stores are unfair to Negroes buy where you can work in every department."
The Civil Rights Digital Library received support from a National Leadership Grant for Libraries awarded to the University of Georgia by the Institute of Museum and Library Services for the aggregation and enhancement of partner metadata.
