Online exhibit with photographs and documents relating to segregated education and the effort to desegregate schools, focusing on Prince Edward County, Virginia. The site contains four digital images of documents and twenty-one black-and-white photographs of African American schools, African American students, and those involved in working for integrated schools. The site also contains information about archival collections held at Virginia State University, a timeline of significant events, a bibliography, and a list of links related to the Brown v. Board of Education Supreme Court case.
The Civil Rights Digital Library received support from a National Leadership Grant for Libraries awarded to the University of Georgia by the Institute of Museum and Library Services for the aggregation and enhancement of partner metadata.
